Spring in London and best friends

Hey bloggers!

I haven’t had much time to write this week. I felt annoyed at myself earlier about it because I did have a few blogposts I wanted to tackle – but actually I realised that although I haven’t had a particularly productive work/gym/writing week, I did spend it catching up with my sister and best friends which brought a real big smile to my face!

As it’s finally April, these last few days have been gloriously warm (a whole 17 degrees!) and the sun has been shining down on London. It’s also been the first week where I can actually say ‘next month I’m moving to Canada’ which has made me feel as equally terrified as I have been excited. Yesterday I received photos of my accommodation so it’s all feeling a little bit more real as each day goes by. My main focus right now is to tie up some loose ends at home, spend no money and enjoy as much quality time with all of my besties.

On Tuesday two of my best friends and I went to Ozone in Old Street which roasts the finest coffee I’ve ever tasted in London. If you’re out and about in the city anytime soon and you need an excuse to splurge on some caffeine then I’d seriously recommend it, I believe there’s one in New Zealand too! As soon as you walk in you’re hit with the richest aroma of coffee, and now my mouth is watering…

On Friday my sister and I spent the day wondering around Soho and Covent Garden. She’s only seventeen and hasn’t really ventured around London that much so I enjoy taking her to some of my favourite spots and watching her fall in love with the big smoke (I’m gonna miss it so much!) I took her to Soho Grind for a latte, we attempted some shopping, found a window that said ‘Girl Power’ so obviously that had to go straight on the gram and then we spent the rest of the warmest day of 2018 so far gazing in awe at Neal’s Yard in Covent Garden.

It was truly the loveliest day and made me realise that as much as I complain about British weather and how expensive this city is, I’m sure gonna miss living near London.

Saturday was spent celebrating my very best friends birthday. Thirteen years deep into our friendship and we’re more like sisters now than anything! We drank far too many porn star martini’s and ate a load of smashed avo on toast – what better way to spend your 24th.

This means that I’m nursing a slight hangover today. But I’m about to go and brave an hour at the gym to burn some of those martini’s off.

Hope your Sunday is eaaaaaasy.

  1. Hey I just kind of randomly stumbled across your blog, and you seem like such a cool person and I think we would get along really well! I also want to let you know that I’m from BC, Canada, (not sure if you’re moving to Alberta or BC) and I can probably answer questions if you have them! I’m 21, and I’m actually considering (considering being the operative word) studying in the uk after I’m done my undergrad here. I’ve been to Scotland 3 times and England once (albeit briefly) and I just fell in love with it. Anyway I just started this blog like a couple days ago, so there’s not much info on there about me yet, but feel free to contact me for questions/for a chat!!! – Rachel

    1. Hey Rachel! Thanks for stumbling across my blog 🙂 I’m moving to Alberta but I’ll probably be spending some time in BC too as I have family just outside of Van. You should definitely come to the UK! Where abouts are you thinking? Have you been to London before?

Thanks so much! Feel free to message me any time too, especially if you’re considering coming to the UK.
